What do you think about?
We all have the same 24 hours in a day and are probably conscious 16 or more hours each day. Even while we are working, our mind often “wanders” from the task at hand.
Are you aware of your thoughts?
Not just being aware of having thoughts, but are you conscious of what you are thinking about most of the time? Or do you let one thought in, release it without much notice and then let another thought pop in?
Habits and patterns
Most of us are creatures of habit.
Our thoughts tend to follow similar patterns. The question I want to ask you is “Are your thoughts serving you in a positive way?” If you don’t make the effort to become more conscious of your thoughts you will most likely just drift from one thought to another without awareness or direction.
I want to help nudge you into choosing more of your thoughts and developing more effective thinking patterns.
Here are some things to consider to begin incorporating more awareness into your life…
7 tips to change old patterns
1. Take out a 8 X 11.5 sheet of paper.
In big letters write “THOUGHTS” at the top of it, “Present / Opportunities” in the middle of the paper, and write “GRATITUDE” at the bottom of the page. Place this paper on your desk where it is visible.
This will trigger you to be conscious of what you are thinking.
2. Take Notice during your day:
- Are your thoughts about things in the past, present or future?
- Are your thoughts about problems or opportunities?
3. When your thoughts are about the past or about problems shift your thoughts to the present and to possible opportunities.
4. If there is something you can do to improve things either do it right now or write it on your “to do” list and put a timeline to complete the task.
5. Go to a place of Gratitude often during the day.
It lifts your mood, gives you more energy. and makes you a more pleasant person (and more productive too)!
6. Notice your thoughts for a week. Have you identified any patterns?
7. Finally be patient with yourself.
Even if there is only a small change in applying this process it is a step in the right direction. The more we are aware of our thoughts, the more we can choose to redirect our thoughts to be more powerful. And powerful thoughts usually lead to more positive action!
A change of consciousness is necessary before you can change your outer world.

The thoughts that you are thinking and the words that you are declaring in this moment are creating your future.

Tips of the Day
I don’t watch a lot of television, but when I do I usually record the show or game and fast forward through the commercials. It saves gobs of time – I can watch a 3 hour game in 1 hour. On regular television shows there are usually 16 minutes of commercials for each one hour program. With movies the ratio of commercials is even worse.
So take out the clicker, hit guide, and scroll through the menu to record the programs/games you want to watch. With that extra time you can read a book or do some form of exercise :-)!
BE GRATEFUL and spread kindness – it will all come back to YOU!!
